✸small business: etsy edition✸

If there’s one thing that I love it’s shopping with small businesses. Shopping small means that I know my money is going to help pay some bills for someone instead of lining the pockets of some mega corp CEO. One of the first places I learned about when looking for hand crafted products was Etsy!

I feel like a lot of people know about this site, but if you’re new, Etsy is an online marketplace for people to sell their own creations. You can find anything from knitted hats to handmade mugs, and if you’re in fandom spaces you can definitely find lots of stuff.

I’m sad to see the way things have gone with Etsy recently, with fees that have made seller prices increase and the sheer amount of drop-shippers. And now we have to watch out for people selling AI generated content or using AI in the product photos of whatever they’re selling.

Despite all of that, there are some amazing creators who I’ve bought from and have loved their products. So I want to share a list of my favorites and I hope you decide to shop from them throughout the year like I plan to!

Cosmetics

Haunting Hues Cosmetics
Formerly known as 'Tater Rounds Beauty’, this has to be my favorite indie cosmetics brands that I have found on Etsy. They have a very unique selection of gothy eye shadows and lipsticks. I used to have a little collection of their fragrances as well!

Lunar Tides Hair
Lunar Tides has their own site now and you can actually find them in various stores now, but I originally ordered from their Etsy. When it comes to colorful hair dyes I would absolutely recommend this brand! As always I would suggest checking out multiple reviews and the ingredients list to make sure its safe for you, and to do a patch test to be extra sure.

SpectrumCosmetic
Spectrum sells makeup, perfume and nail polish. I swear at one point all my nail polishes were from them.

FierceMagenta
If you’re looking for some super unique lipgloss/lipstick shades then you’re in the right place.

Candles

BriarWick
I love a good candle and finding ones that match my fandoms are also really fun. They carry a lot of bookish fandom and seasonal candles and room sprays.

A Court of Candles
Another great bookish candle creator that I’ve enjoyed.

PestilencePours
Okay so maybe bookish fandom candles aren’t your thing…but history and oddities are. That’s where PestilencePours comes in. I loved their “Are We Brothers, Francis?” candle inspired by The Terror and it made for a great winter time candle.

Clothing

Von Bondage
I know what you’re gonna say and yes this is a kink gear shop, but you can wear collars and harnesses as fashion if you’ve got the confidence baby!

ABlackStar
They have some of the cutest Halloween and horror shirts and other goodies. I’ve got my eyes on a few things to treat myself to from them this year.

LiteraryEmporium
If you’re a bookworm like I am or looking for gifts for the bookworm in your like this shop has you covered. I’ve had my shirt from them for close to 10 years now and it’s still going strong.

grrrlspells
A perfect little shop for witch/spooky queer pins and patches. They also have some shirts that I just think are really cool.

Planner

randiDOTplans
I love these little icon stickers for my planner. I use them in the calendar section of my planner where I might not have to space to write a lot of details.

MuzeLab
If you need some spooky planner goodies this is the shop! They carry washi tape, stickers, sticky notes and printables.

Book Ephemera
While this shop isn’t for planners I had to include it here because they make some of my favorite and most unique bookmarks.

D&D

SaffronStitched
Okay so technically I’ve only ordered a tarot card bag from them but they make really cute dice trays and dice bags as well that I have my eyes on. I really love the witch/goth prints they use for their products.

FennekandFinch
One of my top 3 dice makers that I have bought from and loved. Most of the dice in my collection are from this maker and I can’t recommend them enough if you’re looking for well priced and pretty dice.
